I did my CBT with another riding school but they didn’t have any big bikes that were lowered (or couldn’t be bothered) for me to take the mod 1 & 2. I contacted Tim and explained I was only 5ft and he told me to come along and try out one of his bikes.  He put me on a Kawasaki ER6 with a lower seat and a tweak on suspension and it was fine.

I didn’t realise until I had a lesson with Tim how much I hadn’t learned on my CBT with the other school so I would advise anyone thinking of doing the Mod 1&2 to do their CBT with Tim first. Tim explains all aspects of riding, bike handling  in a really easy to understand way, has loads of patience and likes to have a laugh which is important when you’re nervous on test day (if you can understand his Welsh valley accent that is !!!! lol)

My licence arrived yesterday and I have put 1000 miles on my bike in under 2 weeks !!!  Just so happy to be out on the road.  Thank you so much Tim, I enjoyed learning with you  and you know I am coming back for some advanced stuff.

I am now the proud owner and rider of a BMW R1100 RT.  I could not have done this without the terrific training from Tim Allsop at Phoenix in Ripon.  Tim is thorough, patience, totally focused on safety and sets you up not just to pass your tests, but to be a really safe driver going forward.  I would wholeheartedly recommend using Tim for any aspect of your bike training. The facilities are perfect - nice quite area to do the CBT and MOD1 and Ripon and the surrounding area is perfect for getting out on the road.  It is clear Tim is hugely respected by the testers and I passed all my levels first time.

I have to say that your expert tuition has been first class and your calm and confident manner helped control my nerves.

It really has been an amazing learning experience and I'm kind of sorry that this stage has ended! Now I hope to progress with the skills you have taught me.

Just had to send a note to say a big Thank you for all your help with the training over the past couple of weeks, getting me through Direct Access and my tests.
I really enjoyed all the training, especially the road training for the Module 2 test, it was really more like having a day out on your bike with a mate than a training session. Not that the training isn't serious but you manage to make it enjoyable and by the end of the day when things start falling into place I started to feel really good that I was getting it right.

I really can't recommend you enough, you're a born teacher and you really care about all the people you are training.
Will no doubt be round to see you soon on some silly big bike I buy ! But thanks to you I'll be riding it safely.
